Steve Wechsler

Steve received his Master’s Degree in Mathematics from New York University at age 21 from NYU, and completed his classroom work for his PhD. While working on his thesis, he joined the military and served as an Officer in the Army for two years. During the Vietnam War, he was second in command of a nuclear missile base in Korea. After his service, he entered the life insurance business and received his Chartered Life Underwriter Degree from The American College of Life Underwriters.

Steve has over 50 years of experience in the insurance industry. For 40 of those years, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Wechsler Associates, Inc., a New York-based insurance firm that specializes in true customer advocacy: helping clients keep more of what they earn, either for retirement or to pass on to the next generation. Steve is a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, as well as a Life Member of the Top of the Million Dollar Round Table, placing him among the top one percent of insurance professionals in the world.

He has been married to Ellen for 54 years. They have two daughters: Amy, a Board Certified Dermatologist and a Board Certified Psychiatrist practicing in New York City, and Jodi, the owner of The iSearch Group which places professionals in high-level accounting and financial services positions. Steve and Ellen have two grandsons and two granddaughters.

Steve has been a generous patron for charitable organizations for many years, and has especially been an important sponsor for the Israel Tennis & Education Centers, which has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children of all faiths. His passion for preventing childhood traumas and promoting resiliency has led him to serve on the board of the KidSafe Foundation.
