Dear KidSafe Friend,
It is with mixed emotions that I write to you today to announce my farewell from my beloved KidSafe Foundation, which I co-founded over ten years ago with my partner and friend, Cherie Benjoseph. My last official day will be Wednesday, April 1.
This departure may come as a surprise, but I assure you I did not make this decision lightly, and for the last year we have been working on succession planning.
As many of you know, last year we promoted Laura Askowitz to CEO. Laura has been doing an outstanding job running the Foundation and helping us grow into a premiere organization dedicated to helping children nationwide. Now it’s time for Laura to guide this important work into the next decade. I will continue to support her and the team during my transition and want to assure you that KidSafe Foundation is in very capable and trusted hands, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m excited for my next chapter, but I’m also saddened to leave this amazing team. I have many wonderful memories of working with our team and the community, and I have built lifelong relationships and friendships with so many of you over the years. My extended KidSafe family will forever remain in my heart, and I will continue to be a KidSafe supporter.
I thank you profusely for the support and dedication you have shown us over the years. I encourage you to continue this support as there is much more work to be done. I know this next chapter in my life will be remarkable, and the next chapter for KidSafe will be remarkable, too.
I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
All the best,
