Our Impact
Our children face so many challenges today. Resiliency is a key skill necessary for children to have a chance at a healthy adulthood, one that includes personal safety, and being able to make safe and smart teen and adult choices.
KidSafe and its supporting partners all work to prevent child sexual abuse and trafficking by teaching children to be harder targets. It is as simple as it sounds; the KidSafe program teaches children their body is special, and belongs to them, and gives them skills to report when they are uncomfortable to a Safe Adult. This prevents children keeping a lifelong, damaging secret, and breaking a cycle of abuse.
We have educated approximately 100,000 children and grownups since 2009, and while our success story is “invisible”, we receive many personal stories from schools that when their KidSafe-educated children report an abuse, they preface their disclosure with “KidSafe said I should tell when I feel uncomfortable”. Parents report that when they learn to comfortably discuss personal safety, they learn how to be a truly accessible parent, one that knows how to keep their children safe.
